Good to know
Think WHAT YOU WANT THE DOG TO DO…. rather than correcting the dog for doing something wrong
For the dog:
- A flat collar and/ or a harness.
- For leash pulling problems, we recommend a front-clip harness.
- For rescue dogs, we recommend a No-escape harness. 3-5 m long leash (no retractable or flexi-lines).
- Water bowl.
- Floor mat.
- Snuffle mat.
For the human:
- Treat pouch.
- Clicker.
Special equipment (dependent on the case):
- Crate.
- Dog or baby gate.
- Muzzle.
Payment
- Science & Dogs services must be payed in full upon the first visit.
- Payment can be done via MobilePay, cash or transfer to bank account.
- Package deals (klippekort): must be used within 6 months. Any un-used training sessions (klip) will be lost by end of the 6 months from purchase.
Insurance
- Dogs must be insured with Responsibility Insurance (Ansvarforsikring) including training.
Rehoming or Relinquishment
- If you have decided to rehome or relinquish your dog before an appointed training session, please contact Science & Dogs as soon as possible for a cancellation. Note that Science & Dogs may require proof of rehoming or relinquishment to evaluate potential refunds.
- Notice period: at least 24 h before the planned training session, via phone call or sms.
- Cancellation fee: Cancellations done with less than 24h notice will be charged in full (either in DKK per single class or one klip from your klippekort, according to the service you booked). No-show appointments (i.e. the trainer is present but the client is not) are considered a lost training session and will charged in full. Cancellations done with more that 24 h notice, will be eligible for a refund or re-schedule the training session for a different day.
- Rescheduling: It is possible to reschedule if the trainer is given notice at least 24h before the planned appointment Please contact the trainer as soon as possible with proffered alternative dates and times.
- If the trainer needs to cancel, you will be notified with more than 24h notice, unless case of sudden illness, and you will be offered a full reimbursement of the scheduled appointment or the possibility to reschedule to another day.
Weather & Other acts of Nature Cancellations and Re-scheduling – only for in-person training
In case weather conditions make it unsafe you, your dog or the trainer, or could risk a bad learning experience for your dog, we might need to re-schedule. The trainer will follow the weather forecast on www.dmi.dk up to 4 h before a planned training sessions and will make a decision if a session needs to be cancelled and re-scheduled. Occasions when weather cancellations may occur:
- Heat wave : +28oC in Denmark
- Heavy rain
- Storm: strong winds with strengths from 7 to 12 in DMI’s scale (kuling, storm, orkan)
- Snow storm
In cases, of weather cancellations the trainer will contact you via phone call or sms, at least 3 h. before the planned appointment to cancel and re-schedule to a suitable day and time.
Illness
- If you or your dog become ill and therefore are not fit to attend a scheduled training session, please notify the trainer by phone or sms as soon as possible. If notified with more than 24h from the scheduled training session, you are entitled to a refund or re-schedule for a different day (e.g. 7-10 days after onset of your dog’s illness) In case of short notice illness (<24 h before training) we will evaluate on a case-by case basis if it is possible to offer re-scheduling.
